Friday I wound up watching Final Destination 5 with the fam and then sleeping basically. I might have played a little while after that but not long.
Wanted to get it in on Saturday but wound up shopping. I did manage to get a Rock Band 3 session going. After listening to Robert Glasper's rendition of "Smells Like Teen Spirit", I had a hankering for trying out the original!
Sunday I started off with a massive Skyrim session but it feels like all I did was forge weapons, lightly enchant them, and shop around to sell equipment and such for hours on end. I did manage to take down a few dragons and advance the College of Winterhold storyline. That Eye of Magnus thingy does look cool. I probably spent a little too much time clearing out about 3 different Druegar ruins and a few Dwarven ones as well but the alternative was to continue the Civil War.
I think at this point in my character's level 42 career, I'm seeking a bit more magical prowess. I haven't taken many magic perks and I've begun trying to get the Treasure Hunter perk from the lockpicking tree as well as the Investment perk from the Speechcraft tree.
What I thought was particularly interesting was this "Dawnbreaker" sword that I found. When I'm hacking through the undead, this thing starts glowing white-hot. It is a gorgeous sword so it makes me feel all kindsa bad @ss carrying it around.
Somewhere in there I will look to get married but until then, the College of Winterhold storyline should help me out with the magical prowess.
Finally, once the NFL playoffs were done, I jumped on some BF3 to see if my clan ([HERO] - Random Heroes) was wrecking havoc. I found myself leaning towards raising my Recon score. Sniping is a bit hard in this game sometimes. Especially when you are playing as the attackers in a Rush scenario. I didn't jump in with teammates so I got stuck with a team of lone wolves. They weren't bad players per se, but we surely didn't play together. Thankfully, we won most of our matches as long as we weren't attacking. (my stats)
Took down a few choppers and C4'd a vehicle as well. Next session I hope to do some damage in a vehicle but for some reason I didn't get a chance to pilot anything last night.
Then, I made my 'payday' purchases!
So apparently this Bloodbath Arena DLC is like a zombie horde mode for Dead Island which is a game that I absolutely adore. It'll be nice to return to the zombie fray and do some therapeutic hack n slash.
Then when I'm done, I gotta drop some high scores on Pinball FX2!
