So I just watched Burning Bright, which comes out on dvd tomorrow and I was more than pleasantly surprised. When I initially read the back of the dvd box I thought this has to be the worst idea for a movie. It involves a young girl and her autistic brother who get trapped in a house that is boarded up for a hurricane with a tiger. I know right? I thought this would be hilariously stupid so of course I rented it. But it was actually really good. No crappy cgi, lots of suspense and really good acting on the parts of the girl and the young boy.
I'm actually going to have to recommend this to people, I liked it that much. I think one thing I liked was that this girl tried all the obivious hiding spots to get away from the tiger. I expected a bunch of the typical stupid girl moves and unrealistic luck to float the girl and her brother through the movie. Although there was a lot of luck, it wasn't out of line in my opinion. I also thought the plot was very well played out and of course actually makes sense as you watch the movie.
