I am still enjoying sourdough bread from Bengbeng Sourdough. And the best thing is that this bakery has moved its operations from Kota Bharu to Kuala Lumpur. Yay!
Bengbeng Sourdough is now baking from The Cookhouse at Glo Damansara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail. I had no clue until I placed an order back in November 2021. Fortunately I contacted them via whatsapp to confirm delivery date and had to redirect the delivery to my work place instead of home.
So if I place my order today, the bread will be freshly baked tomorrow and delivered the very same day.
These were the ones delivered to my office, all packed in a box.
I made another order before the year end and these arrived on new year's eve.
This time the orders were placed in plastic bags. Delivery is via Grabexpress. I ordered 3 Sourdough Country Loaf and 6 Sourdough Donuts.
The donut is not as fluffy as regular donuts and is more on the dense side. But if you zap it for 10 seconds in the microwave, it becomes soft and fluffy. I requested for no sugar as I prefer it that way (less messy to eat).
The sourdough loaf was soft and fluffy (which made it harder to slice but I am not complaining) since it was freshly baked.
I am so glad that I can get freshly baked sourdough bread delivered to my home. I know that some people dislike sourdough bread maybe because the bread lacks that sweet yeasty aroma/flavor that we are so used to in commercial breads. But I enjoy the chewy texture and tang so I will continue to consume this bread.
