Tendulkar apologizes for the disappearance of Vasoo Paranjape

Bombay (Maharashtra) [India], 30 August (ANI): on Monday, former India captain Sachin Tendulkar condemned the death of legendary coach Vasoo Paranjape.

“Vasu sir, as I have always known him, was one of the best coaches I have worked with. He has been an integral part of my cricket journey since childhood and a mentor in many ways. Early in my career, I remember who told me in Marathi, be careful for the first 15 minutes and your opponents will watch you for the rest of the day “. He was knowledgeable, lively and had a great sense of humor, ”Tendulkar said.

“I went to see him a few months ago and he was usually witty. During our national under 15 camp in Indore, the keeper had gone to complain to him (as a coach) about us kids playing with a tennis ball at night, keenly expecting support and rigorous action. Vasu Sir in his inimitable style reacted: “They are children and they will play. Why don’t you play for them too, “leaving the keeper puzzled! He left us many memories and moments to smile. I feel that a piece of me has left the world. RIP Vasu Sir,” he added.

The mentor of former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar, Paranjape, died on Monday at his residence in Mumbai.

Paranjape died after a long illness. He leaves his son Jatin, a former Mumbai hitter, who has also played four ODI, according to ESPNcricinfo.

Paranjape has mentored the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sanjay Manjrekar and Rohit Sharma. The coach has played an important role in all these cricketers who have achieved great heights in cricket.

Former England hitter Ed Smith had also once gone to Paranjape to seek advice on batting. (ANI)
